    TacoSpigot - Releases
    An fork of paper, offering increased performance and experimental features.
    Available for 1.8.8 and 1.11.
    We give many of our features to paper, as I love to help them out too. (Example)

    Features
    • Optimizes hoppers by 80-95%
      • Adds an option to disable InventoryMoveItemEvent
      • More info
    • Optimizes redstone
      • Set 'useArraysForBlockStates' to true to enable
      • More info
    • Optimizes armor stands by 90%+
      • Disables gravity for armor stands (you must set "armor-stand.optimize-movement" to true)
      • Avoiding looking up entities when moving (this does not disable gravity, and just results in improved performance)
    • XRay optimization
      • Reduces redundant checking for blocks
    Requirements
    • Java 1.8
    Configuration
    TacoSpigot has options configurable in taco.yml:
    • useArraysForBlockStates - setting to true enables some redstone optimizations
    • worldSettings:
      • hopper:
        • push-based - Setting to true enables my awesome hopper improvements (with vanilla behavior) (on by default)
        • fire-InventoryMoveItemEvent - Setting to false disables hopper events (which can help performance, but the event may be necessary) (events fire by default)
      • armor-stand
        • optimize-movement - Disables gravity/movement for armor stand, resulting in significant performance gains
      • redstone-fire-BlockPhysicsEvent - Setting disables redstone events (which can help performance, but the event may be necessary) (events fire by default)

    Will these Features be released in PaperSpigot or is it :taco:Spigot only

    Most of them will get added to paper eventually.
    This lets you test them and use them early though.
    Some of them probably won't be added at all, and others @Z750 ads to paper himself.

    Are there any plans on redstone-optimization? Redstone causes a large amount of lag on my server and it's hard to limit the usage of it.

    I need v2 for useful information.
    Why are you using 1.8 instead of 1.8.8?
    1.8.8 has so many fixes and performance improvements.

    Yeah I'm on 1.8.8. I'll see to get some timings after updating to 1.9.

    PaperSpigot 1.8.8 uses timings v2.

    If you choose to run Paper on 1.8.8 you should be running the last build of it, or TacoSpigot. There were lots of small improvements and fixes, especially if you are that far behind.

    Nope, updating to latest taco would include latest paper 1.8.8.
    I intend to keep pulling fixes from paper (when applicable to 1.8) and PRing stuff back to paper too.
    For instance the hopper patch is goona be nice :D
    And yes, I totally agree.

    You can see that at the end the procent of TPS used for chucks/players/Entities was higher than t the beginning
    So it could be that the server was overloaded
